Shanghai Day 2

Second day in Shanghai. Still no internet access but I am still blogging as I should. Since I use Windows Live Writer, it was easy for me to just blog and save it then post only when I have internet access through my laptop. China could look really modern but they do not really have wi-fi =( So sad right? Haih

Nevermind about that, here are some pictures of the streets of Shanghai around where I stay =)IMG_2550 IMG_2553 IMG_2556 IMG_2558 IMG_2559 IMG_2560 IMG_2561 IMG_2563 IMG_2610        IMG_2603 IMG_2606 IMG_2609 Today was much colder than the first day but it was alright. I love how this reminds me of Paris. We went out in the morning to where Chee Sian stay to meet up with him for Carrefour. We signed up first for the study trips and then went to Carrefour. Julliet came with us. She is an admin staff and also a masters student in Monash university. She would be doing Chinese levels 1 and 2 (same as Chee Sian).

Sometimes I feel so antisocial because I do not really feel like talking or do not even know what to talk about. Felt so awkward at times =( But I think it will be better once we got to know one another more perhaps?

Carrefour was basically very noisy. Not to say really clean and nice to shop but it was alright. The Chinese people were really rough. Not to say they are rude but they just push around and although they bump into you accidentally, they would not even have the courtesy to apologise =( I got bumped into more than five times just within three minutes I think! Totally dislike it but then oh well, it could be just how the Chinese are?IMG_2566They sell TURTLE TT so sad! =( And a kind of weird fish that I do not really know what it is =( But their crabs are sold in a “groomed” way. HAHAIMG_2572Saw some special fruits like haw berries.IMG_2568Green dates (not sure about this name LOL)IMG_2567And Kum quat! Saw and ate kum quat before so I did not get any.IMG_2569I got the other two to try and the girl who weighed my stuff was being sarcastic (in a nice way) saying that I really got a LOT of fruits. LOL.IMG_2570She actually said we can try before buying them but I just feel not so nice.IMG_2574After more shopping, we went for lunch at this place called Icefire Drink BBQ.IMG_2592You choose what you want and they shall cook into soup noodle for you.IMG_2580However, minimum RMB5.00 worth of food. You can choose the spicy one or the none. All of us chose non spicy other than Von Yi. Look at her red face =PIMG_2590After the lunch, we walked to SISU Guesthouse. We left our things there and then went to tour around the campus ourselves. IMG_2611 IMG_2613 IMG_2614 IMG_2615 IMG_2616 IMG_2617 IMG_2618 IMG_2619 IMG_2622 IMG_2623 IMG_2627 IMG_2628 IMG_2629 IMG_2632 IMG_2633 IMG_2634 IMG_2636 IMG_2637 IMG_2638 IMG_2639 IMG_2640 IMG_2641 IMG_2642 IMG_2643 IMG_2644 IMG_2645 IMG_2648 IMG_2649 IMG_2650 IMG_2651 IMG_2653 IMG_2654 IMG_2655 IMG_2663 IMG_2668 IMG_2669After the tour, we got back to Chee Sian’s room and I napped there while Chee Sian showered and prepared to get to our place. After he was ready we went to SISU Hotel and unpacked our shopping.IMG_2733Got siao long bao. This is something to snack on while waiting for dinner. The very first siao long bao in Shanghai =)IMG_2695Went for dinner at another new place. It was seriously nice. Well, in comparison yesterday’s food, these was really nice and non oily =)  IMG_2696 IMG_2697 IMG_2698 IMG_2699After that we went to shop around the area. Went to the nearest metro station and saw lots of shop around there.IMG_2700Got a hot chocolate from L’Air du Temps. Went into Watson and saw this.. BODY SCRATCHING! LOLIMG_2701Then saw this range of products from Limi. French products but the packaging and everything is so similar to The Skin Food! Wonder if its imitation but the saleslady says its not. But even if it is, would they admit? I shall check online some other time if I remember! haha IMG_2703 And found out a night market! Did not buy anything from there though. IMG_2705 IMG_2707 IMG_2708 IMG_2709 IMG_2710 IMG_2711 Saw a cake house which boasts of nice egg tarts. Got one for my breakfast and it was seriously really nice =)IMG_2715 IMG_2716 IMG_2718 IMG_2719  Then saw KFC. The people were so hardworking and studied in there o.OIMG_2722Got home and slept really early. Woke up early and hence got tired really early. Retreated to my bed early and had a good sleep =)

Money spent for Day 2:

Total spent = RMB42
